Agnico Eagle Acquires O3 Mining

As the gold market continues to heat up, we’ve got more consolidation on the table folks.

The latest transaction will see Agnico Eagle (TSX: AEM) acquire O3 Mining (TSXV: OIII) in a deal that will further consolidate the Val d’Or region of Quebec. And in a rarity for junior mining investors, shareholders are set to receive cash rather than shares under terms of the deal.

This is always a huge plus for the mining world, because what tends to happen, is that these deals set off capital flows into other mining names.
