AgraFlora Organics International Inc. (CSE: AGRA) has announced that construction of the company’s cannabis edibles production facility located in Winnipeg is 75 percent complete, and the remaining work is anticipated to be done within the next 60 days.
Moreover, AgraFlora is expecting to receive its Standard Processing License from Health Canada by mid 2020, once the company submits its video evidence package and confirmation of readiness. AgraFlora plans to submit its licensing proposals once construction has been completed on the facility.
Once complete, the new facility will be 51,000 square feet in size, where 30,000 square feet will be allocated to just production. The facility will also house a research laboratory, which is expected to be approximately 750 square feet in size. At the onset of production, AgraFlora plans to focus predominantly on the manufacturing of CBD and THC infused gummies, which will be overlooked by the firm’s confectionery manufacturing joint partner.
The new Winnipeg facility will be utilizing automated manufacturing, such as the mixing of ingredients, cooking, as well as preparation for packaging, which is anticipated to decrease the company’s cost of labor. The facility will also utilize Smart Recipe Management and Pharmaceutical Grade Dose Management, which will ensure that recipes are measured and followed precisely and appropriate dosages of cannabis are deposited through advanced computer controls.
Furthermore, the AgraFlora facility will also come equipped with a Rapid Batch Turn-Over depositing system, which is suggested to further increase efficiency by decreasing the time between different recipes. In addition, all of the manufacturing equipment in the facility has been retrofitted with automated cleaning systems that sanitize and clean the machinery, which will further reduce labor costs.
