Aya Gold & Silver Produces 1.6 Million Silver Ounces In 2021

Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (TSX: AYA) shared today its Q4 and full-year production results for 2021 at the Zgrounder Silver mine in Morocco. The annual production yielded 1.6 million silver ounces, meeting its increased 2021 guidance of 1.55 million ounces.

The firm processed a total of 224,515 tonnes for the year, notching an average grade of 269 g/t silver, also above guidance.

For the fourth quarter, the firm produced 433,742 silver ounces, up from Q3 2021’s 338,624 ounces. The quarterly throughput ended at 716 tonnes per day, which the company said exceeded the mine’s designed capacity.

Further, average head grade for the quarter came in at 248 g/t silver, up from last quarter’s 242 g/t silver.

The mining firm also announced its 2022 operational outlook, headlined by an estimated annual production of 1.65 – 1.80 million ounces. The company also estimates to process a total of 245,000 tonnes next year, yielding an average head grade of 264 g/t gold.

For next year, the company has set a 72,500-metre exploration drilling on priority target properties, including Zgounder, Imiter bis, and Boumadine. A total of US$14 million has been earmarked for this drilling program.
