Canada Nickel Hits 0.28% Nickel Over 343 Metres At Midlothian

Canada Nickel (TSXV: CNC) this morning published drill results from three separate properties it operates in the Timmins, Ontario region. Despite full assays being available for results from its Midlothian and Sothman properties, the firm instead elected to highlight preliminary data from the Mann Northwest property.

Drilling at Mann Northwest has seen four holes completed to date. Those holes are said to have “intersected multi-hundred metre intervals of mineralized peridotite and dunite,” confirming that the property consists of ultramafic mineralization. Three targets are said to currently be present at the property, with footprints ranging from 3.1 to 6.0 square kilometres. Drilling has confirmed 800 metres of strike, and a width of at least 500 metres at the Northwest zone, which remains open in all directions.

“Our regional exploration program successfully continues to deliver positive results, as we add Mann Northwest to the string of successes at Reid, Deloro, Sothman, Texmont and Midlothian,” commented Mark Selby, CEO.

The Midlothian property meanwhile, which saw four holes completed in the winter 2023 program, has seen the first assay result return a value of 0.28% nickel over 343.5 metres, beginning from a depth of 1.5 metres in hole MID23-01. Assays remain pending for the three other holes.

Finally, the Sothman property saw a total of seventeen drill holes conducted across two zones on the property. The West zone, which is said to contain high-grade nickel, saw ten holes conducted with highlights including:

  • SOT22-08: 0.37% nickel over 77.7 metres
  • SOT22-09: 0.31% nickel over 192.3 metres, including 1.28% nickel over 5.3 metres
  • SOT23-15: 0.42% nickel over 42.0 metres

The West zone contains a strike length of 300 metres, which is up to 120 metres wide and open at depth.

The East zone at Sothman, said to contain a large tonnage of low grade nickel, meanwhile had seven holes completed at the target. Highlights include:

  • SOT22-05: 0.26% nickel over 315.0 metres
  • SOT23-17: 0.26% nickel over 277.5 metres
  • SOT23-18: 0.29% nickel over 319.3 metres

Canada Nickel last traded at $1.37 on the TSX Venture.
