Evergold Corp. (TSXV: EVER) has returned a new high-grade gold-silver intercept roughly 100 metres southeast of the drilling that established Golden Lion’s first high-grade domain in 2021, providing the first assay evidence from the company’s return to the British Columbia project after a five-year drilling gap.
Hole GL26-031 returned 13.5 metres grading 2.84 g/t gold and 127.65 g/t silver, including 4.9 metres at 7.70 g/t gold and 186.0 g/t silver. The intercept sits at an estimated vertical depth of roughly 198 to 212 metres.
The result came from the first six holes reported from Evergold’s completed 16-hole, 3,988-metre 2026 program at the GL1 Main Zone. Assays from the remaining ten holes are pending, along with copper, lead, and zinc results for the six holes already reported.
Another hole, GL26-027, returned a broader 53.23 metres at 0.94 g/t gold and 3.8 g/t silver, while GL26-026 intersected 44 metres at 0.74 g/t gold and 6.87 g/t silver.
Evergold said the drilling has outlined a mineralized envelope across roughly 300 metres of strike that remains open along strike and at depth.
The importance of the highlight result is its location relative to Evergold’s strongest historical drilling. In 2021, hole GL21-025 returned 11.3 metres at 5.4 g/t gold and 62 g/t silver, including 2.8 metres at 10.4 g/t gold and 651 g/t silver. Nearby GL21-024 returned 66 metres at 1.36 g/t gold and 11 g/t silver, including 3.3 metres at 11.30 g/t gold. Those holes established the first high-grade domain within a much broader lower-grade system at GL1.
GL26-031 was drilled from a fence approximately 100 metres southeast of those 2021 holes. Evergold said the new high-grade zone is similar in character to GL21-025 and may represent an extension of that mineralization at depth.
The company initially planned approximately 4,000 metres in 12 holes when it outlined the program in May, but ultimately completed 16 holes while staying close to the original metreage target. The drilling was funded following a $5.41 million private placement closed in April, with proceeds earmarked primarily for Golden Lion exploration and working capital.
Evergold last traded at $0.45 on the TSX Venture.
