Hacked: Donald Trump Jr.’s Twitter Account Announces Donald Trump Has Died and He’ll Be Running for President Instead
Donald Trump Jr. appears to be the most recent hacking victim on Twitter. The breach, which happened briefly on Wednesday morning, resulted in a series of bizarre posts on the platform now known as X.
The initial hacked tweet claimed that former President Donald Trump had passed away and announced Donald Trump Jr.’s candidacy for the 2024 presidential race. Subsequent posts included provocative statements about North Korea, offensive language, and references to controversial figures like Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew Surabian, a long-time spokesperson for Trump Jr., promptly claimed in a separate tweet that the account has been hacked and the tweets are “obviously not true” — just in case you weren’t sure.
The incident (or show) only lasted for about 30 minutes, with the unauthorized posts now all deleted. As of this writing, Trump Jr. has not commented on the incident. But his brother Eric has.
Last week, Etheruem founder Vitalik Buterin’s Twitter account was also hacked and was used to steal about $691,000 worth of crypto from users who fell for the NFT scam that the account posted.
