Joe Biden Gets Ridiculed During State of the Union Speech, Trump Issues “Real” Version

US President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address was so ill-received the audience erupted in boos and shouting, with one Republican going as far as calling him a lair for criticizing the GOP’s agenda.

During his speech on Tuesday, Biden boasted about his administration’s endless work in tackling Covid-19, unemployment, inflation, and climate change, even going as far as to criticize rival lawmakers for allegedly conspiring to cease welfare payments for Americans.

“Some of my Republican friends want to take the economy hostage— I get it— unless I agree to their economic plans. All of you at home should know what those plans are,” he exclaimed. “Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset.”

Biden’s statement was promptly met with shouting and boos from Republicans, forcing the president to dive into a back-peddling jargon. “I’m not saying it’s a majority of you,” he continued, going as far as proposing to show the GOP’s proposal on Medicare and Social Security as proof for “anybody who doubts it.” While the crowd jeered at the president, Congresswomen Marjorie Taylor Greene could be heard shouting “liar” and giving him a thumbs-down.

Although Biden’s address was largely focused on domestic issues, he also dipped into topics on foreign affairs, exclaiming that the White House would maintain a competitive foothold against China. “Before I came to office, the story was about how the People’s Republic of China was increasing its power and America was failing in the world. Not anymore,” he said. “Today, we’re in the strongest position in decades to compete with China or anyone else in the world.”

The 80 year-old clarified that America would continue to cooperate with China wherever necessary, but should the communist regime pose a threat to US sovereignty, “we will act to protect our country, and we did.” Biden was referring to the recent Chinese “spy balloon” fiasco, which was gunned down by a US fighter jet over the weekend.

Meanwhile, former president Donald Trump didn’t waste time in unleashing a rebuke to Biden’s State of the Union address, releasing his own pre-recorded message also on Tuesday. Trump, a 2024 GOP presidential candidate, called his own speech “the real state of the union,” accusing the Biden administration of failing to curtail crime and illegal immigration, mishandling the Ukraine war, and trying to ““indoctrinate and mutilate our children”— a reference to America’s transgender issues.

Trump even gave the current president the title of the “most corrupt president in American history,” arguing that “Biden and the radical Democrats have wasted trillions of dollars and caused the worst inflation in half a century.”
