K92 Mining Intersects 49.93 G/T Gold Equivalent Over 6.25 Metres At Kainantu Mine

K92 Mining Inc. (TSX: KNT) announced today the results from its ongoing diamond drill program on the Judd vein system at the Kainantu gold mine in Papua New Guinea. Assay reports highlighted an intersect of 49.93 g/t gold equivalent over 6.25 metres true width.

The results come from the 17 drill holes completed from underground into the Judd deposit. Covering a strike length of 650 metres, the drill holes intersected mineralization with 29% of the assays exceeded the 20 g/t gold equivalent grade.

Highlights of the reports include:

  • JDD0022: 49.93 g/t gold equivalent (48.56 g/t gold, 47 g/t silver, 0.54% copper) over 6.25 metres true width
  • JDD0019: 53.63 g/t gold equivalent (52.27 g/t gold, 39 g/t silver, 0.60% copper) over 3.32 metres true width
  • JDD0021: 19.18 g/t gold equivalent (17.87 g/t gold, 28 g/t silver, 0.67% copper) over 5.87 metres true width

The gold equivalent grades were calculated using the following metal prices: US$3.30 per copper pound, US$21 per silver ounce, and US$1,600 per gold ounce.

As a result of these assays and metallurgical tests to date, the company is planning to start the first production stoping at the Judd vein system by the fourth quarter of this year.

The mining firm reported in July 2021 that it has produced a total of 25,015 gold equivalent ounces for Q2 2021.

K92 Mining last traded at $7.32 on the TSX.
