Lundin Gold (TSX: LUG) has reported the highest grade interval ever recorded at its Bonza Sur deposit, with one hole returning 204.26 g/t gold over 3.05 metres as renewed drilling sharpens the company’s picture of the system’s high-grade core.
Highlights from the assays released this morning include:
- BLP-2026-553: 204.26 g/t gold over 3.05 metres from a depth of 140.25 metres,
- Including 1,035.60 g/t gold over 0.60 metres
- BLP-2026-483-D1: 28.05 g/t gold over 4.20 metres from a depth of 698.30 metres,
- Including 50.44 g/t gold over 2.30 metres
- BLP-2026-483-D2: 13.75 g/t gold over 5.50 metres from a depth of 715.35 metres,
- Including 23.21 g/t gold over 3.20 metres
- BLP-2026-475-D5: 25.24 g/t gold over 2.90 metres from a depth of 962.45 metres,
- Including 179.0 g/t gold over 0.40 metres
Bonza Sur sits south of the Fruta del Norte South deposit on the company’s Fruta del Norte property in southeast Ecuador. It’s a large, shallow epithermal system defined by wide spaced drilling along 2 kilometres of strike, with disseminated mineralization reaching surface and higher grade zones sitting inside the broader envelope.

This year’s program has tightened drill spacing to test the continuity and geometry of those zones.
In the northern portion of the deposit, multiple high grade results tied to quartz veining confirm the continuity of distinct high grade zones within the main envelope. BLP-2026-553, drilled in the area bordering FDNS, points to further potential there.
Lundin also outlined a new discovery, Quebrada Dorada, roughly 2 kilometres south of Bonza Sur, extends the known gold trend on the property to more than 8 kilometres, with the best hole returning 20.15 g/t gold over 3.15 metres.
President and CEO Jamie Beck said the results are “changing our understanding of the potential significance” of the higher grade material. He added that with FDNS underground development advancing south, the company sees potential to eventually access the northern part of Bonza Sur from underground.
Three rigs are currently drilling at Bonza Sur, with results from several holes still pending.
