Northmin Corporation (TSXV: NMB) has reported assays from two more holes at its Tynagh project in Ireland, including the highest copper and silver grades the company has returned since it began drilling at the former mine site.
Highlights from the results include:
- 3615-26-08: 0.30% copper, 2.42% zinc and lead and 21.26 g/t silver over 33 metres from a depth of 56 metres
- And 4.03% copper, 24.87% zinc and lead, 0.47% antimony and 313.82 g/t silver over 2.45 metres from a depth of 106.75 metres
- Including 12.85% copper and 933 g/t silver over 0.75 metres from a depth of 106.75 metres
- 3615-26-09: 0.30% copper, 1.25% zinc and lead and 11.05 g/t silver over 24.45 metres from a depth of 93.8 metres
- And 0.11% copper, 2.40% zinc and lead and 13.21 g/t silver over 19.7 metres from a depth of 134.3 metres
- And 0.78% copper, 1.10% zinc and lead, 0.26% antimony and 50.54 g/t silver over 5.1 metres from a depth of 164 metres
Hole 3615-26-08 targeted mineralization 50 metres east of an earlier high grade copper intercept. It cut a broad polymetallic zone in the reef limestone, along with a narrower high grade interval in a lower reef unit. Hole 3615-26-09 matters for a different reason. Its 19.7 metre zinc-lead intercept sits in the Lower Muddy Limestone, a sub-reef unit that was never mined. This suggests mineralization near the Tynagh Fault is not limited to the historically worked reef.
Northmin also pointed to possible fault splays within the reef, which could explain copper, silver and antimony turning up away from the main fault.

The four holes reported so far cover 125 metres of strike and are part of a 10 hole program. Another four widely spaced holes have been completed, with assays pending. The company said observations from those holes “give us confidence that the project will continue to deliver positive drilling results from across the 1.6km strike of the historically mined deposit.”
The new results follow the release of assays from hole 3615-26-07, which returned 4.92% copper, 0.98% antimony and 62.04 g/t silver over 6.4 metres.
Northmin last traded at $0.40 on the TSX Venture.
