Patriot Discovers New High Grade Zone, Intersects 122.6 Metres Of 1.89% Li2O

Patriot Battery Metals (TSXV: PMET) continues to see success as it drill tests its Corvette Property in the James Bay region of Quebec. The company last night released further assay results from its 2023 winter drill program.

Drilling was primarily focused on the CV5 Pegmatite, including its eastward extension, the westward extension, and a portion that is proximal to the CV1 outcrop. Highlights from the program include:

  • CV23-130: 101.2 metres of 1.08% Li2O, including 10.1 metres of 2.42% Li2O
  • CV23-132: 130.3 metres of 1.56% Li2O, including 52.7 metres of 2.45% Li2O
  • CV23-134: 101.3 metres of 1.44% Li2O, including 28.1 metres of 3.00% Li2O
  • CV23-138: 122.6 metres at 1.89% Li2O, including 8.1 metres of 5.01% Li2O
  • CV23-141: 101.2 metres of 1.59% Li2O, including 28.5 metres of 4.14% Li2O

The first four highlights are said to come from a new high grade zone, which is said to be a 200 metre extension to the west of the Nova Zone. The Nova Zone meanwhile is now said to extend for at least 1,100 metres.

The CV5 Pegmatite as a whole is said to remain open along strike, and is said to be at least 3.7 kilometres in length. Patriot also noted that the westernmost drill hole completed under the drill program, which is yet to see assays returned, reportedly intersected 93 metres of dominantly spodumene-bearing pegmatite, while the final hole in the area returned a continuous interval of 139 metres of spodumene-bearing pegmatite.

The Winter 2023 drill program saw a total of 89 holes drilled across 32,367 metres in aggregate. 27 holes are still awaiting assays from the program. All holes however will be used in a resource estimate, which is currently targeting a July 2023 release date.

A summer-fall drill program meanwhile is slated to begin in late may, with exploration continuing through to late September.

Patriot Battery Metals last traded at $14.83 on the TSX Venture.
