Questcorp Mining Inc. (CSE: QQQ) has released assay results from the first portion of its Phase 2 drill program at the La Union project in northwestern Sonora, Mexico, reporting shallow gold mineralization at the Union Norte target.
The Phase 2A campaign consisted of seven holes totalling 530.1 metres. Highlights from the results include:
- UND26-015: 0.45 g/t gold equivalent over 14.60 metres from a depth of 1.00 metres, including 5.60 metres at 0.96 g/t and 4.60 metres at 1.09 g/t
- UND26-014: 0.76 g/t gold equivalent over 9.10 metres from a depth of 1.90 metres, including 4.50 metres at 1.18 g/t and 1.50 metres at 3.38 g/t
Both intercepts begin essentially at surface, and the two holes sit along a corridor roughly 1.5 kilometres north of the historic Union Mine that remains open along strike and at depth.

Elsewhere, UND26-013 cut anomalous lead and zinc interpreted as a continuation of the historic Sproul manto body beneath Union Mine, and UND26-017 at Jabali returned elevated arsenic read as a vector toward a feeder zone. UND26-018 was terminated early, leaving the principal Luis Hill induced polarization target, a chargeability anomaly more than a kilometre long, untested.
“Phase 2A has materially advanced our understanding of the La Union mineral system and, importantly, provided clear geological vectors for the next stage of drilling,” said president and chief executive Saf Dhillon. “We are deliberately sequencing this program so that exploration spending is directed at targets already defined by more than one dataset.”
“Taken together with the historic high-grade mineralization at Union Mine and the growing inventory of targets across the property, we believe Phase 2A has strengthened the technical case for a broader mineralized system at La Union.
That sequencing leans on 248 line kilometres of drone magnetic surveying and eight line kilometres of induced polarization completed earlier this year, which mapped structures interpreted as feeder faults to the system.
Exploration under Phase 2B is expected to commence after the rainy season, prioritizing step-outs at Union Norte, deeper drilling beneath Union Mine and completion of the Luis Hill target.
