QYOU Media Announces Details of New Channel, The Q Marathi

Details have finally been released by QYOU Media (TSXV: QYOU) on their previously announced second linear channel that is to launch in India in early 2022. Labelled as The Q Marathi, which will focus on the native Marathi language within the country.

Demographically speaking, the channel is to target the same target audience as The Q currently does, with the major difference between the two channels being the language utilized on the channel. The Q is currently tailored to Hindi speakers, while the latest is to focus on Marathi, which is the native tongue of over 84 million people.

Much like its flagship, the channel will also focus on “tapping into the massively popular world of social video,” while featuring content from digital creators and social media stars whom predominantly speak Marathi. The decision to target the language group reportedly follows extensive market research conducted over 2021.

Commenting on the strategic decision, CEO of The Q India Simran Hoon identified that the language is “among the most sought after language groups for advertisers in India and we expect our current ad partners to quickly join the party on The Q Marathi.”

Pre-marketing of the channel is to begin early next month, with the channel slated to launch of January 31, 2022.

QYOU Media last traded at $0.245 on the TSX Venture.
