Selkirk Copper Mines (TSXV: SCMI) has returned the first assays from its Phase 2 drill program at the Minto Project in Yukon, extending high grade copper-gold-silver mineralization across several zones as the company moves toward a planned feasibility study.
The results cover the first nine holes drilled in May and include step-out and infill intercepts at Minto East, Minto North, and the newly discovered 117 Lens.
Highlight results include:
- 26SCM178: 2.33% copper, 1.98 g/t gold, and 22.3 g/t silver (4.28% copper equivalent) over 4.3 metres at Minto East
- 26SCM183: 2.22% copper, 0.41 g/t gold, and 5.3 g/t silver (2.59% copper equivalent) over 4.5 metres, within a broader interval of 1.44% copper equivalent over 11.9 metres at Minto North
- 26SCM175: 1.02% copper, 0.35 g/t gold, and 4.2 g/t silver (1.35% copper equivalent) over 22.7 metres at the 117 Lens
The 26SCM178 hit at Minto East came from a 50 metre step-out, while 26SCM183 marked a 30 metre step-out at Minto North that leaves mineralization open to the west. The 117 Lens intercept, drilled to infill widely spaced earlier holes, confirmed grade continuity and thickness in a zone sitting close to existing underground infrastructure.
The 50,000 metre Phase 2 program, running four rigs since May 1, is well ahead of schedule. As of June 30, Selkirk had completed 27,300 metres across 104 holes, or 54% of the target, with drilling rates reaching 220 metres per day and averaging roughly 120. Assay turnaround is currently six to eight weeks, and the program is expected to run into late August, with results flowing through the summer and fall.

“I continue to be impressed with the Selkirk Copper team’s ability to progress a wide range of technical- and commercially-focused work programs in support of the planned feasibility study,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Colin Joudrie, adding that strong drill productivity has the program tracking “on time and below budget.”
Alongside the drilling, Selkirk has begun collecting technical field data to underpin a feasibility study slated for completion in mid-2027, spanning geotechnical drilling and test pitting, geometallurgical testwork, structural mapping, and borehole surveys.
An updated mineral resource estimate and preliminary economic assessment remain on track for the second half of July.
Selkirk Copper last traded at $1.60 on the TSX Venture.
