Launches 1,800 Metre Drill Program at Aquilon Gold Project

Sirios Launches 1,800 Metre Drill Program at Aquilon Gold Project

Sirios Resources (TSXV: SOI) has started a 1,800-metre diamond drill program at the Aquilon gold project in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec, returning to the property to test the size of a gold halo it discovered in 2025.

The helicopter-supported program calls for 3 new holes, along with extensions to 2 holes drilled previously.

The near-surface halo is interpreted to run more than 700 metres from south to north across a width of 300 metres, dipping to the east. Last year’s drilling returned intervals of up to 298.2 metres grading 0.26 g/t gold, and the new holes are designed to confirm continuity both laterally and at depth.

The target sits less than 2 kilometres southwest of the high grade Lingo zone and roughly 3 kilometres from the Moman zone.

“While results from our summer exploration at Cheechoo are starting to come in, we’re excited to resume drilling at Aquilon,” said Jean-Félix Lepage, CEO of Sirios. “This new program will allow us to better determine the size of the gold halo that was discovered in last year’s program.”

Lepage also pointed to Aquilon’s history of exceptionally high grade intercepts, including 12,906.5 g/t gold over 0.2 metres at Lingo. Those results, along with 3,527.4 g/t gold over 0.4 metres at Moman, came over very narrow widths, however. The halo is a different kind of target, with far lower grades spread across much broader intervals.

Aquilon is a joint venture owned 51% by Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada and 49% by Sirios, and the program is being funded in the same proportions. Sirios is the operator.

The project spans 140 exclusive exploration rights covering 68 square kilometres, about 10 kilometres south of the Laforge-1 hydroelectric power station, with access by all-season road. To date, 32 gold showings have been identified on the property.

Sirios Resources last traded at $0.235 on the TSX Venture.
