Today on the Daily Dive, we sit down with Trevor Peters, CEO of Willow Biosciences (TSX: WLLW). Trevor joins us this afternoon to discuss the latest development at the company – the production of THC from yeast.
Willow Biosciences is a biotech firm focused on producing high purity cannabinoids for the treatment of a number of ailments. Its competitive edge for the market is focused around the method of production of cannabinoids, which does not occur via the traditional method of growing a plant. Instead, the firm biosynthesizes the compound via a yeast host, to produce a consistent, scalable and sustainable product. Presently, the firm is focused on the production of ultra-pure cannabigerol, or CBG, which it expects to commercialize in the current quarter.
