At The Precious Metals Summit Beaver Creek, we sat down with Sean Roosen, Chairman and CEO of Osisko Gold Group Inc. (NYSE: OGG) (TSXV: OGG), to discuss gold’s remaining upside, declining confidence in the US dollar and why energy suppliers may become the real winners of the AI boom.
Sean provides an update on the fully financed Cariboo Gold Project, where construction is approximately 22% complete and first production is targeted for the first quarter of 2029. Osisko has approximately $1.7 billion available against roughly C$990 million in remaining construction costs.
We also discuss the plan to grow Cariboo beyond its initial 200,000-ounce annual production profile. Osisko intends to expand from 16 to 30 drills, spend approximately $160 million on drilling over the next two years and explore an 86-kilometre mineralized trend where only about 6% has been tested.
Sean also discusses the potential to double production within the known mineralized area, the larger open-pit opportunity near Cariboo, how annual gold production affects company valuations and the overlooked potential of Sirios Resources and Osisko’s Tintic project in Utah.
