Vizsla Copper (TSXV: VCU) has wrapped up the first phase of its 2026 drill campaign at the Poplar Project, with assay results confirming that its Thira porphyry discovery is shaping up to be a sizable copper-molybdenum system.
The company reported the remaining results from a spring program that saw over 11,200 metres drilled across 21 holes along the Thira alteration corridor. Every hole at the Thira Discovery itself hit porphyry-related copper-molybdenum mineralization, helping define a footprint of roughly 800 metres by 900 metres that remains open in most directions.
The standout was drill hole TH26-154, which stepped out north of the original discovery hole and returned a long, continuous run of mineralization.
Highlights from the assays include:
- TH26-154: 0.40% copper equivalent (0.26% copper, 0.017% molybdenum, 0.87 g/t silver, and 0.04 g/t gold) over 475.8 metres from a depth of 13.2 metres
- Including 0.48% copper equivalent over 304.8 metres from a depth of 13.2 metres
- And including 0.58% copper equivalent over 45.0 metres from a depth of 48.0 metres
- TH26-163: 0.31% copper equivalent (0.17% copper, 0.012% molybdenum, 2.32 g/t silver and 0.07 g/t gold) over 177.3 metres from a depth of 228.7 metres
Beyond Thira, seven holes at the emerging Camp Lake target outlined a broad zone of copper-molybdenum mineralization, while four holes at Copper Pond established a vertically oriented zone carrying copper, molybdenum and silver. Both targets sit within the same 8-kilometre corridor and are being read as separate porphyry centres in a larger system.

“Our second drill program at the Poplar Project has significantly advanced our understanding of the system at the Thira target, where we are working to define a large-scale copper porphyry system,” said Craig Parry, executive chair and chief executive. He added that the company sees Thira as one piece of something much bigger.
A fully funded, two rig Phase 2 program of up to 8,000 metres is slated to begin in late July, chasing extensions at all three targets.
Vizsla Copper last traded at $1.14 on the TSX Venture.
