AMPD Ventures Signs Agreement with Variational AI

AMPD Ventures Inc (CSE: AMPD) has entered into an agreement to supply Variational AI Inc with Graphic Processing Units (GPU) systems, which are crucial for using artificial intelligence in the development of new drugs.

This agreement will see that AMPD will provide an initial amount of 16 GPU systems to Variational, all of which will be located at AMPD’s DC1 data centre. Going forward, the company plans to provide an additional 112 GPU systems throughout 2020.

Variational has developed Enki, which is a system that is capable of discovering small molecules using artificial intelligence. However, in order for the Enki system to run efficiently, it requires the use of GPU systems to aid in computing advanced calculations for machine learning, which are crucial for the discovery of new novel molecules.

Currently, GPU’s are used in processing advanced 3D graphics in video games, as well as mining of cryptocurrencies. This agreement will see that the GPU’s provided by AMPD are used for pharmaceutical research through AI-discovered small molecules.

Variational AI Inc uses machine learning to aid in the discovery of new drugs for bio-pharmaceutical customers.

AMPD is a a company focused on developing and providing advanced computing and cloud technology to be used in applications such as digital animation, video games, visual effects, and data collection and analysis.

AMPD Ventures Inc is currently trading at $0.34 on the CSE.
