Antimony Resources (CSE: ATMY) yesterday released assay results from ongoing drilling that consist of some of the highest known antimony grades.

Drill results were released for the initial four drill holes conducted under a program at Antimony’s Bald Hill project in New Brunswick, which are part of an expanded 2,700 metre drill program. Highlights from the results include:

  • BH-25-03: 2.76% antimony, 0.52 g/t gold over 2.8 metres from a depth of 78.2 metres
    • Including 19.0% antimony, 0.58 g/t gold over 0.4 metres
  • BH-25-04: 4.17% antimony, 0.39 g/t gold over 7.4 metres from a depth of 106.6 metres
    • Including 7.43% antimony, 0.88 g/t gold over 2.50 metres
    • Including 28.8% antimony over 0.50 metres
    • Including 21.9% antimony over 0.40 metres
    • Including 17.9% antimony over 0.40 metres

Mineralization intersected within those holes is said to be massive antimony stibnite, stibnite veins, and stibnite bearing breccia.

I am very pleased with the assays returned for drillholes BH-25-03 and BH-25-04. The shortfall of the first two drillholes was disappointing but we have better identified the location of the mineralization with each successive drill hole and the surface mapping and have retargeted the area of drillholes 1 and 2 with additional drill holes to intersect the Zone. We are anxiously awaiting the next batch of assays. As the drilling progressed batches of samples were submitted to the laboratory on a regular basis, which should mean a continuous flow of results over the next couple of months,” commented Jim Atkinson, CEO of Antimony Resources.

A further ten drill holes are said to have been completed to dates, with sections of massive antimony stibnite and stibnite bearing breccia-filling said to have been intersected. Antimony bearing mineralization to date has been identified in surface outcroppings over a strike length of at least 300 metres to the southeast beyond the original drilling.

While no mineral resource currently exists for the Bald Hill Project, a historical Technical Report indicated that the potential quantity and grade of the drilled area is in the 725,000 to 1,000,000 tonne range grading 4.11% to 5.42% antimony, which equates to 30,000 to 40,000 tonnes of contained antimony. Historical work at the property suggests that antimony widths average over 3.0 metres at grades between 3% and 4% antimony, with a historical deposit exceeding 500 metres in length having been identified by that exploration.

Antimony Resources last traded at $0.145 on the CSE.
