Big Tech as Big Brother: Oracle’s Larry Ellison Says ‘Citizens Will Be on Their Best Behavior’ with AI Surveillance

Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) co-founder Larry Ellison’s September 2024 comments about AI-powered mass surveillance have resurfaced after an older video clip of him discussing surveillance technology gained widespread attention on social media.

The video, reposted by X user Chief Nerd on January 22, has accumulated 8.9 million views, bringing renewed attention to Ellison’s vision of AI-monitored society.

During an Oracle financial analysts meeting in September, Ellison had described a future where artificial intelligence would continuously monitor security cameras, police body cameras, and other surveillance devices to ensure “citizens will be on their best behavior.”

His vision included replacing police cars with AI drones for pursuit scenarios, telling investors: “You just have a drone follow the car. It’s very simple in the age of autonomous drones.”

The Oracle co-founder, worth $157 billion and ranked as the world’s sixth-richest person, outlined plans for comprehensive surveillance where “we are constantly recording and reporting everything that’s going on.”

Actually, more than likely, we’ll just take a 12 Gauge to the Cameras, genius.

Then, you’ll be on your best behavior…
