Blackrock Gold Hits 1.5 Metres Of 4,643 G/T Silver Equivalent At Tonopah West

Blackrock Gold (TSXV: BRC) this morning reported further results from its flagship Tonopah West project, located in Nevada. Drilling has revealed its highest interval to date, with the company reporting 3.1 metres of 14 g/t gold and 1,070 g/t silver, or in simpler terms 2,466 g/t silver equivalent. Further, the drill hole contained an interval consisting of 1.5 metres of 4,643 g/t silver equivalent.

The latest drill results come from the DPB Target, with the highlight being from the Merton Vein within the target area. A second hole from the target, referred to as TW20-016 and conducted as a step-out hole 500 metres from the target hit three zones of mineralization that include a highlight value of 1.5 metres of 553 g/t silver equivalent.

Current drilling is largely focused on the DPB target, which has produced the highest grade intercepts on the project. Drilling is currently being done as step out drilling to hole TW20-006, which has reported 4.6 metres of 1,577 g/t silver equivalent previously. This step out drilling is currently being conducted at intervals of 100 metres along strike from this hole, with the target said to have significant potential for expansion.

It’s also been stated that a recently drilled hole, conducted as a step out 500 metres from the target, may have intersected a second gold system on the property. The hole intersected three separate areas of mineralization, rich in gold rather than that of silver.

Outside of the DPB Target, the company is currently planning to conduct four holes at the Ohio target, after which the drill will move to the DPB target for further follow up drilling. The Victor target is also an area of focus, with seven holes planned and five already having been completed along the potential strike for the Murray/Victor vein complex.

Drill results to date have been positive enough that the company has expanded the drill program to 30,000 metres, a sizable increase from the previously planned 20,000 metre program. More significantly, it should be noted that the program began as just 7,000 metres before high grade results were discovered. A third drill rig has also been added to the mix. A total of 13,700 metres of drilling in 28 holes have been conducted thus far.

Blackrock Gold Corp last traded at $0.85 on the TSX Venture.
