BMO Q4 Earnings: A Buyback And Some Clever Accounting

While CIBC may have taken the crown this earnings cycle in terms of the most positive investor response to fourth quarter results, Bank of Montreal (TSX: BMO) came in at a close second.

The equity ended the day up just over 4% following the release of the results, a result of the company announcing a large buyback program alongside a dividend hike, despite coming in shy of some analyst estimates.
