Cambria Gold Mines (TSXV: CAMB) is targeting commissioning of the 2,500 tonne per day mill at its Premier Gold Project in the fourth quarter of 2027, according to a development update released this morning that also disclosed more than C$45.9 million received to date from warrant exercises.
The plan is to restart on Premier material alone and bring in feed from the higher-grade Red Mountain deposit once the road to it is finished.
That road cleared its last permitting hurdle on September 21, when Cambria received a Fisheries Act Authorization. The approval allows in-stream work along Bitter Creek, where sections of an earlier road washed out during a 2013 storm. Crews are now pushing toward Bromley Humps near the base of Red Mountain, roughly 12 kilometres from Highway 37A, with the company aiming to get there before the end of 2026.
The alpine stretch up to the deposit is slated for the 2027 construction season. Mill feed would then be trucked about 50 kilometres to Premier, though Cambria is also studying an aerial tramline or rope conveyor that could be added after the first year of operations.
At Premier, water has been the priority. The site’s treatment plant has struggled with zinc discharge compliance since it was built in 2024. Cambria took operations in-house from a contractor, brought in specialist consultants and repaired neglected pumps, valves and piping. Results have improved over the past two months, though the company says it is moving closer to compliance rather than claiming it has reached it.
Underground upgrades at Premier-Northern Lights, covering ground support, power, ventilation, sumps and secondary egress, are due for completion by year end using a newly purchased equipment fleet. Development at the Silver Coin deposit follows in spring 2027. Mill work, including a new primary jaw crusher and conversion of an unused clarifier into a pre-leach thickener, is set to wrap up next year.
Chief Executive Officer Robert McLeod said enough mineralization is accessible at Premier to begin mining, with Red Mountain to supplement it once construction is complete.
Permitting now shifts to the major mine authorizations for both projects, a haul road permit application and an amendment to the Red Mountain Environmental Assessment Certificate to reflect the current design.
An updated combined feasibility study meanwhile is targeted for the first half of 2027.
Cambria Gold Mines last traded at $0.77 on the TSX Venture.
