Canafarma Begins Development On Hemp-Oil Based Acne Cream
Canafarma Hemp Products (CSE: CNFA) this morning announced that it is working towards bringing its newest hemp-oil infused product line to market, with the first product being that of an acne skin care topical., designed to combat conditions specific to acne.
The latest product is being designed in conjunction with Carl Germano, an authority in the cannabinoid and nutritional industry. Together, the group is currently developing a ream that is designed to provide releaf support to sufferers of acne vulgaris, a skin disease that affects 79% to 95% of the adolescent population.
The skin cream is to be launched by the the end of the second quarter, and is formulated to utilize the full cannabinoid spectrum found in hemp oil. Specifically, the cream will target three specific characteristics of acne: oil production, inflammation, and bacteria.
Based on a 2014 study conducted and subsequently published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, it was found that cannabinoids prevent cells from creating too much sebum, the substance that clogs pores and results in acne. Meanwhile, cannabinoids were also found to contribute anti-inflammatory properties, while a subsequent study has found certain antibacterial and antifungal effects.
The product is expected to be launched by the end of the second quarter of 2020, with the exact date to be announced in due course.
