CanAlaska Identifies Multiple Geophysical Targets At Frontier Following Airborne Program

CanAlaska Uranium (TSXV: CVV) has received the results from a series of airborne geophysical surveys conducted across the 16,000 hectare Frontier Project in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin. Several new exploration targets are said to have been identified in connection with the surveys.

The airborne program saw CanAlaska conduct high resolution VTEM Plus, horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric surveys across the entirety of the Frontier Project. The VTEM plus survey is said to have seen a total of 931 line-kilometres flown across the property at a 200 metre line spacing, while the horizontal magnetic gradient and radiometric surveys saw a combined 3,739 line-kilometres of helicopter based surveying completed at 50 metre line spacing.

Once this data was compiled, it was then processed through GeoInterp data analysis to extract lithostratigraphic and structural elements from the survey data and generate targets. The analysis is said to have prioritized the identification of basement conductors, to refine areas for ground prospecting, and to support future drill targets.

“The Frontier project work has generated some very compelling basement-hosted uranium exploration targets along the prolific Roughrider Mineralized Corridor. The CanAlaska team will actively seek exploration partners to help move the Frontier project toward discovery,” commented Cory Belyk, CEO of CanAlaska.

The entire process is said to have identified three key target areas for further exploration. One of the key targets identified is focused around the Point Lake anomaly, which saw surface sediments collected in the 1990’s assay at 34.7 ppm uranium.

The targets are said to be found along a 25 kilometre long northeast trending corridor that has been referred to as the Roughrider Mineralized Corridor. The corridor is said to continue off the property to the southwest, where it hosts multiple uranium deposits including Roughrider and the McClean Lake mine and mill complex among others.

CanAlaska Uranium last traded at $0.88 on the TSX Venture.
