Copper Road Resources Hits 100.4 Metres Of 0.32% Copper In Ontario

Assay results are finally out for Copper Road Resources (TSXV: CRD) on their maiden drill program at the Copper Road Project, found within the Tribag Mine Zone of Ontario. The drill program consisted of eight holes, which were drilled over 3,000 metres in agregate.

Drilling under the program was focused on the Breton and East breccias of the Tribag Mine Zone, with all eight holes intersecting significant near-surface mineralization. The program focused on proving continuity and depth on historical models for the deposits, while also expanding known mineralization outside of these models.

Highlights from the results include:

  • TR22-003: 0.29% copper and 3.19 g/t silver over 60.0 metres from 16.0 metres depth
  • TR22-006: 0.32% copper and 2.99 g/t silver over 100.39 metres from 18.0 metres depth, including 0.58% copper and 4.39 g/t silver over 30.0 metres from 46.0 metres
  • TR22-007: 0.22% copper, 2.94 g/t silver, 0.15% molybdenum, and 0.56 g/t rhenium over 66.0 metres from 69.0 metres depth
  • TR22-008: 0.27% copper, 4.84 g/t silver, 0.01% molybdenum, and 0.25 g/t rhenium over 48.6 metres from 34.0 metres depth

“Our goal with this drill program was to deliver near-surface copper mineralization only 20 kilometres off the Trans-Canada highway. We believe our first drill program into our flagship property is just the start of reviving this historical mining district and clearly demonstrates that there is more copper to be mined,” said CEO John Timmons on the results.

“We believe that with systematic exploration across our 21,000-hectare project, the Copper Road project will continue to prove itself as a future source of domestic copper to contribute to the clean energy transition,” he continued.

The results are said to have demonstrated that broad zones of near surface copper mineralization exist at the target, and that mineralization continues outside of historical models. Target validation is now ongoing for future exploration work, along with lake and surface geochemical surveys, ground truthing, and geological mapping.
