DOJ Charges “Whistleblower” On Biden’s Corruption As Secret Chinese Agent
A prominent “whistleblower” who has repeatedly accused the Bidens of corruption now faces charges from the Justice Department. Gal Luft, a dual citizen of the United States and Israel, has been charged with arms trafficking, acting as a foreign agent for China, and violating Iran sanctions.
Prosecutors claim that he paid a former adviser to Donald Trump on behalf of Chinese principals in 2016 without registering as a foreign agent. It is alleged that Luft urged the former government employee to promote policies favorable to China.
Furthermore, Luft is accused of arranging meetings between Iranian officials and a Chinese energy company to discuss oil deals, a clear violation of US sanctions. Additionally, he is said to have engaged in illicit arms transactions, attempting to broker the sale of weapons to various countries, including anti-tank weapons, grenade launchers, mortar rounds, bombs, rockets, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Although Luft was arrested in Cyprus in February on US charges, he managed to flee after being released on bail while awaiting extradition and is currently a fugitive.
Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, described Luft as engaging in “multiple, serious criminal schemes.” Williams emphasized that their office would work diligently with law enforcement partners to hold accountable those who attempt to perpetrate foreign influence campaigns in the United States.
Christie Curtis, the Acting Assistant Director in charge of the FBI’s New York Field Office, expressed determination to defend national security by enforcing laws that promote transparency of foreign influence within the country. Curtis labeled Luft’s actions as attempts to evade sanctions and laws designed to protect the nation.
Luft, however, disputes the charges against him. In a video circulated by the New York Post, he claimed that his arrest in Cyprus was orchestrated to prevent him from testifying before the GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee regarding alleged payments received by the Biden family from individuals linked to Chinese intelligence.
“I, who volunteered to inform the U.S. government about a potential security breach and about compromising information about a man vying to be the next president, am now being hunted by the very same people who I informed—and may have to live on the run for the rest of my life on the run,” he said.
Luft also stated that he had offered evidence supporting his claims to the FBI in 2019, which he alleges was ignored.
Following the public disclosure of the charges on Monday, an associated Twitter account, allegedly belonging to Luft, shared a link to a fundraising campaign aimed at gathering financial assistance for his legal defense.
In a recent guest appearance on the conservative Newsmax network, Republican Rep. James Comer described Luft as “a very credible witness on Biden family corruption.”
The fugitive think tank founder contended that he did not believe he would receive a fair trial in New York, which prompted his decision to jump bail and flee.
Supporters of Biden argue that the case against him is built on conspiracy theories and that it has failed to produce any evidence linking the president to wrongdoing.
In June, news emerged that his son Hunter Biden had reached an agreement with prosecutors, which would enable him to avoid incarceration by pleading guilty to two tax misdemeanors in a separate and unrelated case.
