Donald Trump Gets His YouTube Channel Back

YouTube on Tuesday said it has restored former president Donald Trump’s channel, after suspending it over two years ago following the January 6 Capitol Hill riots.

“Starting today, the Donald J. Trump channel is no longer restricted and can upload new content,” YouTube said in a tweet. “We carefully evaluated the continued risk of real-world violence, while balancing the chance for voters to hear equally from major national candidates in the run up to an election.”

Trump was initially banned from YouTube in 2021 for allegedly violating the site’s policy of inciting violence, after a group of the former president’s supporters forcefully entered the US Capitol while Congress was officiating Joe Biden’s election win.
