Elon Musk Booed by Audience During Cringeworthy Appearance at Dave Chappelle Comedy Gig

New Twitter owner Elon Musk apparently doesn’t have a very large fan base. The billionaire made an appearance at a Dave Chappelle comedy show during the weekend, garnering an astonishing amount of boos from a crowd otherwise immune to bigoted, anti-woke offensive humour.

“Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the richest man in the world,” said Chappelle as he was wrapping up his performance at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday evening, welcoming Musk on stage. However, as soon as the Tesla CEO made his way onto the podium, the wave of boos overtook any cheers, becoming louder as Musk paced across the stage, gripping a microphone in his hand. “Cheers and boos, I see. Elon…” Chappelle said, seemingly surprised and unsure of how to handle such a bitter crowd.

“Hey Dave,” Musk started, before getting interrupted by more booing. “It sounds like some of the people you fired are in the audience,” Chappelle quipped in. “All these people who are booing, and I’m just pointing out the obvious, you have terrible seats,” the comedian continued, attempting to save Musk by referring to the people booing as poor. Although cellphones weren’t allowed at the stadium, videos circling on social media depicting the enormously awkward situation show Musk standing on stage in a perplexed state. “Thanks for having me on stage,” he said, provoking even more boos.

“Dave, what should I say?” Musk continued in a state of embarrassment, becoming increasingly desperate. “Don’t say nothing. It’ll only spoil the moment,” Chappelle said, come to Musk’s aid. “Do you hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest. I can’t wait to see what store you decimate next, motherfucker. You shut the f**k up.” Chappelle, likely realizing inviting Musk on stage was a very bad idea, continued to save face. “I wish everyone in this auditorium peace and the joy of feeling free,” he said. “And your pursuit of happiness. Amen.”

Chappelle, likely running out of ideas on how to save Musk from further ridicule, ended the show at that point, thanking the audience and telling them good night. However, just when one thought it couldn’t get more awkward, an individual from onstage urges Chappelle to repeat an old phrase from his 2000s sketch show, I’m rich b***h.” The comedian complies and then hands the microphone to Musk, prompting him to repeat the phrase. Musk obliges, before being met with a final farewell of boos from the audience.
