Filo Mining Hits 1.13% Copper Equivalent Over 1,406 Metres In Infill Drilling
Filo Mining (TSX: FIL) continues to hit significant mineralization under its ongoing drill program, with the firm now conducting infill drilling as it moves to better understand the geological model of the Filo del Sol Project in Argentina.
The latest results come from hole FSDH084, an infill hole that covered a 160 metre gap between prior drilling. The hole intersected 1,406 metres of 1.13% copper equivalent, with mineralization beginning at a depth of 170 metres. The hole also saw 642 metres of 1.70% copper equivalent intersected, beginning at a depth of 616 metres.
The company also identified that it has seen success from a geotechnical drill program conducted, with the program identifying mineralization extending as far as 2 kilometres from the Aurora Zone to the east. The company highlighted that hole FSGT006 hit 5.21 g/t silver over 12 metres at a distance 600 metres to the east of the zone.
The discovery is said to suggest that the Aurora Zone has a parallel mineralization zone, or that the Aurora Zone is significantly bigger than previously believed, with the zone now prospective to the east for further exploration.

“The unexpected mineralization and alteration encountered in the geotechnical holes, combined with the recent geophysical survey results, is starting to suggest that the Filo del Sol system may be even bigger than we think,” commented Jamie Beck, CEO of Filo.
A total of five holes for an aggregate 1,597 metres of drilling was conducted under the geotechnical drilling program, with the focus of the program being the understanding of the geochemistry of waste rock. The program is said to have identified that peripheral alteration and mineralization extends to the east of the Aurora Zone.
Filo’s main drill program is ongoing, with nine rigs currently on site focusing on infill drilling and the Aurora-Bonita gap.
Filo Mining last traded at $20.84 on the TSX.
