Fireweed Metals Hits 15.1 Metres Of 10.39% Zinc, 18.10% Lead, 296.9 g/t Silver At Macpass

Fireweed Metals (TSXV: FWZ) has released assay results from a drill program conducted at its Macpass Project in the Yukon this past summer. The results come from the Tom South and Jason Main zones.

Highlights from the results include:

  • TS24-001: 18.15 metres (11 metres true width) of 9.02% zinc, 7.46% lead, 148.3 g/t silver from a depth of 732.56 metres
    • Including 8.32 metres (5.0 metres true width) of 16.18% zinc, 13.52% lead, 278.8 g/t silver
  • TS24-002: 15.12 metres (10 metres true width) of 10.39% zinc, 18.10% lead, 296.9 g/t silver from a depth of 595.52 metres
    • Including 8.15 metres (5.4 metres true width) of 12.76% zinc, 22.44% lead, 361.4 g/t silver
  • JS24-002: 28.02 metres (8.3 metres true width) of 7.10% zinc, 1.41% lead, 5.6 g/t silver from a depth of 326.00 metres
    • Including 12.90 metres (3.8 metres true width) of 11.30% zinc, 2.74% lead, 10.3 g/t silver

The results, particularly from hole TS24-002, are said to represent the nearest to surface intercept at the Tom South zone to date, while being an increase in both grade and thickness up-plunge from prior intercepts. Grades intersected here are said to be twice as high as current models estimated for the current resource estimate, enabling potential increases to the resource, while also having the potential to move inferred material to the indicated category.

“The consistent high-grade intercepts at Tom South reinforce that the feeder zone in this area continues to define Tom as one of the most prolific known concentrations of zinc, lead, and silver in the Macpass District, with spectacular grades representing intersections comprised almost entirely of sphalerite and galena. TS24-002 represents the nearest-to-surface and highest-grade intercept at Tom South to date, with a broad distance of 200 metres remaining open for testing the up-dip projection of this high-grade mineralized panel towards previous historical drilling,” commented Peter Hemstead, CEO of Fireweed Metals.

Assay results for 25 of the 49 holes conducted under the most recent drill campaign have now been released by the company.

Fireweed Metals last traded at $1.36 on the TSX Venture.
