G2 Goldfields (TSX: GTWO) continues to see success under an ongoing drill program in the greater OKO-AREMU district of Guyana. The firm this morning released what it refers to as the best drill holes to date for the new OKO surface discovery.
Highlights from the results include:
- AMD30: 5.9 g/t gold over 60 metres from a depth of 90.0 metres
- Including 9.3 g/t gold over 22.5 metres
- AMD37: 3.0 g/t gold over 51.0 metres from a depth of 83.5 metres
- Including 6.3 g/t gold over 10.5 metres
- AMD41: 2.2 g/t gold over 42.0 metres from a depth of 33.0 metres
- Including 9.3 g/t gold over 4.5 metres
- AMD50: 2.2 g/t gold over 99.9 metres from a depth of 52.5 metres
- Including 5.5 g/t gold over 25.5 metres
The new OKO discovery area is said to represent the third such discovery within G2’s portfolio. That discovery, made back in March, has been made 10 kilometres to the north of the current resource area at the Oko-Ghanie deposit which contains 1.5 million ounces in the indicated category at 3.4 g/t gold, alongside 1.6 million ounces in the inferred category at 2.48 g/t gold.

Drilling to date at the new discovery has totaled 13,239 metres across a total of 69 drill holes, 56 of which targeted the Main Shear. Gold mineralization has been intercepted at depths up to 150 metres, with five drill rigs currently actively exploring for further mineralization at the discovery.
“This round of drilling, which was aimed at targeting higher grade zones, has delivered the two best down-hole intercepts on the New Oko Discovery to date. The other drill holes indicate continuity of mineralization within a plunging high-grade shoot as well as along strike in the broader shear structure,” commented Boaz Wade, VP Exploration for G2.
A mineral resource estimate is expected to be released early in the fourth quarter.
G2 Goldfields last traded at $2.73 on the TSX.
