Gran Colombia Reports Assays On 75 Drill Holes At Segovia

Gran Colombia Gold (TSX: GCM) this morning released drill results from 75 separate drill holes at its Segovia operations, a property made up of multiple mines in close proximity to each other. The results are comprised of 10,523 metres of diamond drilling, which was conducted both in the mines and near mines as the company looks to expand mineral resources and extend the life of the mines, as well as 1,707 metres of kick-off diamond drill holes.

Highlights of the results are broken down as follows:

  • Providencia: In mine drilling intercepted mineralization with highlights of 111.79 g/t gold over 0.95 metres, with mineralization remaining open down plunge. A total of 21 holes were drilled within the mine, with the company reporting that no results were above cut-off grade at all 21 holes.
  • Sandra K: The company conducted further infill drilling on the mine on Level 3 down to Level 7 of the mine. 22 drill holes were conducted on the main vein, with highleights of 45.63 g/t gold and 78.4 g/t silver over 0.50 metres. The company also intersected 34.13 g/t gold and 182.7 g/t silver over 0.48 metres on a separate vein within the system, with Gran Colombia planning an addition 4,300 metres of in-fill drilling on the mine as a result. 12 holes at the mine had no results above cut-off.
  • El Silencio: Further infull drilling was conducted on the underground mine, largely focused on two veins. Highlights of 70.13 g/t gold and 184.1 g/t silver over 0.99 metres were found on one vein, while further delination drilling also revealing grades of 89.66 g/t gold over 0.55 metres. Further infill drilling will target the vein, with the company expecting to begin to mine the vein as early as the third quarter. Directional drilling was also conducted on what is referred to as the El Silencio Deep Zone, revealing highlights of 12.32 g/t gold and 13.4 g/t silver over 0.38 meters among other highlights. A total of 12 holes of in-fill drilling and 3 directional drilling kick-off holes were conducted, with 10 in-fill holes not posting results above cut-off.
  • Carla: A total of 17 drill holes were conducted on this property as Gran Colombia looks to improve its resource estimate from inferred to indicated. Two high grade intersections were encountered here, with highlights of 59.29 g/t gold and 48.6 g/t silver over 0.66 meters. Mineralization remains open along strike and down dip, with further drill holes currently being in progress. 13 holes did not return results above cut-off grade.

Gran Colombia currently has a total of six drill rigs in operation at its Segovia project, of which four are focused on defining resources underground, one is focused on down-plunge extensions, and one remains focused on surface work.
