Exploration permits are now in hand for Hemlo Explorers (TSXV: HMLO), whom is looking to conduct further exploration at its Project Idaho property. The property is found three kilometres east of Generation Mining’s Marathon palladium-copper project.
“We are very fortunate to be working in between the long-lived Hemlo gold mine and an exciting new mine development at Generation Mining’s Pd-Cu project,” commented CEO Brian Howlett.
Drilling at Project Idaho is set to begin in late June 2023, with the first phase of the program focused on priority targets identified from an airborne VTEM survey conducted last year, which was used in combination with prospecting, mapping, and soil and grab sampling. Drilling is set to target the north-south trending anomaly on the western side of the project.
Additional exploration will also take place in the form of prospecting, grab sampling, and mapping on the eastern side of the property, where additional anomalies were identified via VTEM.
Exploration conducted at the property to date suggests a Coldwell Complex-Archean boundary exists along a magnetic low identified on the western portion of the property, which is said to be favourable for gabbroic palladium-copper mineralization.
“We consider our package of about 31,000 hectares of claims to contain some of the most prospective geology in the area, as it is the transition area between the Coldwell Complex and the gold-rich Archean, where many regional faults criss-cross. We are very excited to begin our maiden drill program to test the western VTEM targets that represent an analog to nearby Generation Mining’s Marathon Pd-Cu project,” continued Howlett.
Hemlo Explorers last traded at $0.07 on the TSX Venture.
