HIVE Sees 10MW Green Energy Expansion Of GPU Data Centre In Sweden
HIVE Blockchain Technologies Ltd. (TSXV: HIVE) announces today the confirmation that its GPU data centre in Sweden is getting an additional 10MW of green energy electricity. The confirmation came from the Swedish energy company Bodens Energi Nät AB.
This increase comes after a 2MW expansion previously announced on January 28, 2021. With the latest energy addition, the Sweden-based facility has increased capacity from 21MW to 33MW. The company, however, did not specify the type of green energy nor release hard figures on the expansion.
HIVE relayed that it is currently securing “new state-of-the-art” performing GPU cards for the GPU data centre expansion.
The company also shared its position on holding its crypto assets, which is currently valued at approximately US$79 million (based on US$2,700-Ethereum and US$38,500-Bitcoin conversion rates). On the other hand, its cash position “remains stable” at US$36 million.
HIVE Blockchain Technologies Ltd. last traded at $3.26 on the TSX Venture.
