Howard Stern Jokes He’s Running For President And Has Already Announced His Running Mate

Veteran radio host Howard Stern is fuming over the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. He’s so frustrated that he might just launch a bid to become the next POTUS.

“I’m actually going to probably have to run for president now,” Stern told his listeners on the Howard Stern show on Monday.

The Supreme Court’s decision, announced last Friday, overturns the 1973 landmark ruling that protects a woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion.

“I’ll give you a couple of examples of why this is so horrible,” Stern said, “everyday women who go to the doctor and they find out that the baby has horrible birth defects.”

“A lot of times women are raped. A lot of times contraception doesn’t work. And then there’s even a more confusing state where a man and a woman want to have a baby, and all of a sudden things go medically wrong,” Stern added.

“We were past all of this — and we still are. We as a country voted for Hillary Clinton by 3 million votes,” Stern, who also said that if he becomes president, he would get rid of the Electoral College.

“I went into a long-winded speech over the weekend to Robin about how I am going to do the very simple thing that’ll set the country straight: One vote, one person, no more of this Electoral College,” Stern recounted, referring to co-host Robin Quivers. “I’m getting rid of it. And then Robin said, ‘well, can you do that as president?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, let’s find out!'”

This was not the first time that Stern expressed political aspirations. In November last year, he said that he “might have to run” for president to go after Americans who refuse to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

On Wednesday morning, the radio host continued the conversation with Quivers, announcing his pick for a running mate. “He’ll bring in the female vote like you can’t believe,” he teased.
