Interra Copper Mobilizes For Summer Drill, Exploration Program

Interra Copper (CSE: IMCX) this morning announced the commence of its summer exploration program at its Thane Property, located in northern British Columbia. The summer program is to consist of drilling, geological mapping, sampling, and surveying across the property.

Exploration on the 206.58 square kilometre property is to first consist of a drill program. The drill program, at 2,400 metres in size, is focused on conducting eight drill holes that will test high priority targets at the Cathedral area, with such targets first identified last year via a surface sampling program. Drilling is set to begin within two weeks following the completion of padwork prep, with the program to take a little over a month to complete.

At the same time, the aforementioned mapping, sampling and IP surveying is set to occur, with this preliminary field work to be conducted in other regions of the property, with the company in search of copper-gold mineralization. Fieldwork is currently targeted to be completed in early September.

“We have identified high-priority zones defined by IP chargeability highs with supporting copper and gold mineralization from both soil and rock samples, and we are excited to be able to test the depth potential of these targets by diamond drilling this summer. Our team has developed a workflow that will utilize a portable XRF [X-ray fluorescence] with the goal of increasing the turnaround time for obtaining reliable geochemical results. [..] Interra has a strong cash position and the team is progressing on schedule and we look forward to maximizing our exploration window and achieving positive results.”
