Jesus Punches Trump In Iranian Embassy’s Response To Religious AI Post

  • Iran’s embassy response turned Trump’s deleted religious AI post into a geopolitical meme fight, where propaganda, faith, and platform virality now move faster than formal diplomacy.

Iran’s embassy in Tajikistan escalated the backlash over President Donald Trump’s deleted AI-generated Jesus image by sharing an edited video depicting Jesus Christ attacking Trump, turning a domestic religious controversy into a diplomatic meme war.

The post, shared by the X account of the Iranian embassy in Tajikistan, showed a modified AI-style clip in which Jesus physically strikes Trump, reversing Trump’s own image that depicted him as a Christ-like healer in biblical robes.

The controversy began after Trump posted an AI-generated image on Truth Social showing himself in flowing robes, placing a glowing hand on a sick man in a biblical-style scene. The image also included patriotic and religious-adjacent symbolism, including an American flag and eagle.

Trump later deleted the image after backlash from religious conservatives, Catholic commentators, and media figures who called it blasphemous or inappropriate. Vice President JD Vance defended the post as a joke, saying Trump “likes to mix it up,” while Trump claimed he thought the image showed him as a doctor tied to the Red Cross.

The image drew criticism not only from usual opponents but also from conservative and religious figures who argued the imagery crossed a line with Christian voters. Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly called the image “blasphemous” and “completely inappropriate,” while other critics mocked Trump’s explanation that he believed the image showed him as a doctor.

The episode also followed Trump’s clash with Pope Leo XIV over the US position on Iran, making the Jesus imagery more combustible. The US president had criticized the pope as weak while the pope continued condemning religious justifications for war.

Iranian diplomatic accounts seized on the explanation and pushed the controversy into the information-war lane. NDTV reported that several Iranian diplomatic accounts mocked Trump’s AI image, with the Tajikistan embassy posting the altered version showing Jesus attacking him.

The embassy video landed amid a broader pattern of Iranian-linked digital messaging aimed at Trump and the US. Wired reported that pro-Iran group Explosive Media has released more than a dozen viral AI videos mocking Trump and the US since the beginning of the Iran war.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also entered the fight directly, posting that he had told Pope Leo XIV the “desecration of Jesus, the prophet of peace and brotherhood” was unacceptable.

Trump set himself up for this one. But I don’t know. He may be happy to be the center of attention even if it means acting like a goofy kid who acts up so everybody responds….
