Joe Rogan Doesn’t Want Tucker Carlson On His Podcast
In a somewhat surprising turn of events, popular podcast host Joe Rogan has reportedly declined an exclusive interview offer from Tucker Carlson, despite the latter’s eagerness to delve into the details of his recent departure from Fox News.
While both Rogan and Carlson share a large fan base and a “mutual disdain for cancel culture and identity politics,” sources reveal that Rogan’s lack of interest has left many puzzled, according to an exclusive report from the Daily Mail.
According to insiders, Carlson’s team reached out to Rogan’s producers six weeks ago, envisioning his highly successful Spotify podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” as the perfect platform for an uncensored discussion on the Fox News meltdown. However, despite Rogan’s public admiration for Carlson’s defiance of the corporate narrative, the podcast host has shown no inclination to accept the offer.
“Joe will simply not respond. He’s shown no interest in having Tucker on. It’s like crickets.” The source further added, “Tucker wanted it to happen. His people reached out to Rogan’s team saying he wanted to come on, he was willing to reveal what went down at Fox, the firing, the aftermath, everything. They went through producers, his close colleagues, all the right people, and got absolutely no response.”
With Rogan’s podcast attracting an estimated 11 million listeners per episode, and with Carlson attracting an average of 3.3 million viewers every night when he was on Fox News, the opportunity seemed inevitable.
It’s a “No” for Joe
It’s easy to assume that the two personalities would align. Rogan has been known to use his Spotify-backed platform to spread political conspiracy theories. It’s hard to forget his claims about vaccinations during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Tucker Carlson and Joe Rogan sounds like a match made in heaven — and a ratings bonanza,” added the source. “Nobody can figure out why he wants nothing to do with it.”
But this isn’t the first time that Rogan has turned down high-profile personalities. In 2022, he went on Lex Fridman’s podcast and said that he has said no to Donald Trump multiple times.
“I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once, I’ve said no every time,” he said. “I don’t want to help him, I’m not interested in helping him.”
Tucker on Twitter
The two also have that contempt for Trump in common. According to court filings, Carlson himself said in a text message after the 2020 election that he “passionately hated” the former US President.
“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights,” he wrote in a text sent on 4 January 2021. “I truly can’t wait.”
Since leaving Fox, Carlson has launched “Tucker on Twitter,” a series of monologues that garnered millions of views online. However, his actions have also triggered legal disputes with Fox, including a cease-and-desist letter for allegedly breaching his contract, which extends until early 2025.
