Kirkland Lake Discoveries (TSXV: KLDC) has released another round of assay results from its 2026 summer drill program. This batch arrived with a new name attached: Mirado West.
Two holes drilled roughly 600 metres west of the known Mirado deposit returned gold mineralization the company says matches the deposit in both style and alteration, stretching the lateral mineralized footprint to more than 1,300 metres, roughly double its previous extent.
Highlights from the results include:
- KLM26-037: 1.22 g/t gold over 69.5 metres from a depth of 33 metres,
- Including 5.67 g/t gold over 12 metres from a depth of 41 metres
- KLM26-035: 0.35 g/t gold over 21.18 metres from a depth of 19.5 metres,
- and 36.72 g/t gold over 1.01 metres from a depth of 174.5 metres,
- and 0.89 g/t gold over 11.6 metres from a depth of 222.4 metres
Width is doing as much work here as grade. A 69.5-metre intercept starting 33 metres below surface points to a system that is broad and shallow rather than narrow and deep, and the company now interprets Mirado West and the Mirado South Zone as contiguous rather than separate occurrences.

“The discovery at Mirado West is a transformative milestone for Kirkland Lake Discoveries,” said Chief Executive Officer Stefan Sklepowicz. “Intercepting broad, near-surface mineralization validates our regional targeting and significantly scales up the project.”
Executive Chairman Denis Laviolette was blunter, calling KLM26-037 “perhaps the best hole we’ve drilled to date in and around Mirado” and flagging the implications for a future resource update.
The company has been building toward this all season. Earlier holes returned 2.13 g/t gold over 29 metres and 20.29 g/t gold over 4.4 metres, while parallel work has advanced its KL West ground into a multi-target pipeline.
Nineteen holes remain pending, including four more from Mirado West.
Kirkland Lake Discoveries last traded at $0.305 on the TSX Venture.
