Kirkland Lake Discoveries (TSXV: KLDC) has again intersected significant mineralization under its ongoing diamond drilling program at the Mirado project, intersecting a broad zone of gold mineralization that suggests the system is larger than previously understood.
A 75-meter step-out hole, KLM26-002, hit 121 meters of continuous gold mineralization at an average grade of 1.01 g/t from a depth of 11 metres. The results are being viewed as a validation of the company’s geological model, which seeks to prove that the South Zone is part of a much wider, prolific system rather than a series of isolated pockets.
Highlight assay results include:
- KLM26-002: 121.0 meters at 1.01 g/t gold from a depth of 11.0 metres
- Including 3.2 meters at 4.61 g/t gold from a depth of 15.2 metres
- Including 12.8 metres at 3.63 g/t gold from a depth of 69.7 metres
- Including 4.8 meters at 7.41 g/t gold from a depth of 74.2 metres
“We are continuing to see broad mineralization within our second hole at the South Zone of Mirado. These results reinforce our geological model and show the robust nature of this system,” commented CEO Stefan Sklepowicz on the results.
The mineralization at the South Zone is hosted within volcanic units and is defined by quartz-carbonate stringer systems and pyrite replacement. This style of mineralization often results in broad envelopes of lower-grade material that wrap around a higher-grade set of veins, a pattern that is becoming evident as more results come in from the 2026 campaign.

Operations are not slowing down. There are currently eight additional holes pending assays from the laboratory, and the company is systematically testing both the North and South Zones. The goal is to determine just how far the mineralization extends both laterally and at depth.
Kirkland Lake Discoveries last traded at $0.44 on the TSX Venture.
