Mic Cardi B Threw at A Fan Sells for Almost $100K for Charity

In an interesting plot twist, the microphone that rapper Cardi B threw at an erring audience member in late July has been auctioned off, earning almost $100,000 for some good causes.

As the singer was performing at the Drais Beach Club, an unidentified individual from the crowd hurled a glass drink at her. A startled Cardi B retaliated by flinging her microphone directly at the perpetrator, an action that was captured on video and swiftly spread across the world.

It was later revealed that the overexcited fan was just trying to help a girl out, the Grammy-winning rapper earlier asked fans to lightly spray her with water to help her cool down from the heat.

The microphone in question, a Shure brand device, is owned by a man named Scott Fisher, owner of The Wave, the audio equipment supplier to several prominent nightclubs in Las Vegas, including Drais. He put the mic up for auction on eBay and posted it on Facebook.

He revealed that the microphone remains functional despite its unexpected use. Scott pledged to direct the entirety of the proceeds from the microphone’s sale toward two charitable organizations.

The first beneficiary is Friendship Circle Las Vegas, a local charity committed to assisting individuals with special needs through the involvement of volunteers, both teenagers and adults. The second recipient is the Wounded Warrior Project, a foundation dedicated to empowering veterans who have suffered severe injuries.

The auction, which ended on August 8, received 122 bids, reaching a whopping $99,900.
