MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) has continued to purchase additional bitcoin amid the recent run beyond $110,000. The company this morning indicated it has sold further shares via an at the market program to support the purchase of more of the digital currency.
MicroStrategy over the period of May 19 through to May 25 raised a total of $427.0 million in proceeds following the sale of securities. The proceeds came from the sale of 847,000 shares of MicroStrategy’s common shares, the sale of 678,970 8.00% series A perpetual strike preferred stock referred to as STRIK, and 104,423 10.00% series A perpetual strike preferred stock referred to as STRF.
The aggregate proceeds from those sales was used for the purchase of an additional 4,020 bitcoin at an average purchase price of $106,237, for total consideration of $427.1 million. Following the purchase, MicroStrategy now holds 580,250 bitcoin, which was acquired for an average purchase price of $69,979 per BTC, for gross proceeds of $40.61 billion.
MicroStrategy last traded at $369.51 on the Nasdaq.
