NexGen Energy Hits 15.0 Metres Of 15.9% U3O8, Including 0.5 Metres Of 68.8% U3O8 At Patterson Corridor East

NexGen Energy (TSX: NXE) this morning is reporting that it has intersected its best discovery phase assay results to date at the Patterson Corridor East project.

The results come from hole RK-25-232, which is said to rank among the highest-grade basement hosted uranium vein intercepts globally. The hole was conducted just 200 metres away from hole RK-24-222, with the two holes said to confirm scale and continuity early in the discovery phase.

Highlights from the results include:

  • RK-25-232: 15.0 metres of 15.9% U3O8 from a depth of 452 metres
    • Including 3.0 metres of 47.8% U3O8
    • Including 1.5 metres of 29.4% U3O8
    • Including 0.5 metres of 68.8% U3O8
  • RK-25-222: 17.0 metres of 3.85% U3O8 from
    • Including 3.0 metres of 10.1% U3O8
    • Including 0.5 metres of 28.2% U3O8

“RK-25-232 is an exceptionally high calibre intersection considering the program is very early in the evaluation of PCE. Identical to Arrow, mineralization at PCE is wholly hosted in competent basement rock and exhibits all the same characteristics of an intense high-grade mineralized system. PCE is only 3.5 km from the future Rook I Project that is in the final Federal approval stage with the CNSC having received Provincial Approval in November 2023,” commented Leigh Curyer, CEO of NexGen Energy, on the results.

Since the discovery of PCE last year, 64 drill holes across 47,425 metres in aggregate have been conducted at the zone, of which 35 have intersected mineralization, with mineralization remaining open in most directions. A total of 13 high grade intercepts have been made at the zone, including 9 new intersections of off-scale mineralization since the last update.

Drilling is expected to resume on site on June 1.

NexGen Energy last traded at $8.77 on the TSX.
