NIO Sees Decline In Deliveries In April 2022, Delivers 5,074 Electric Vehicles

NIO Inc. (NYSE: NIO) reported on Sunday that it has delivered a total of 5,074 electric vehicles during the month of April 2022. This is lower than March 2022’s deliveries of 9,985 vehicles.

The deliveries for the month put the company’s running 2022 total deliveries at 30,842 vehicles, a 13.5% year-on-year increase.

“In late March and April 2022, the company’s vehicle production and delivery have been impacted by the supply chain volatilities and other constraints caused by a new wave of the COVID-19 outbreaks in certain regions in China,” the company said in a statement.

Breaking this down, the monthly figure includes 1,251 six or seven-seater flagship electric SUV ES8s, 1,878 five-seater electric SUV ES6s, and 1,252 five-seater electric coupe SUV EC6s, and 693 electric sedan ET7s.

The automaker said the production “has been recovering gradually” as the firm rolled off the first batch of tooling trial builds of its ET5 model on the last week of April. Deliveries of ET5 are expected to start in September 2022.

In March 2022, the firm reported its Q4 2021 financials, highlighting a quarterly revenue of US$1.55 billion.

NIO Inc. last traded at US$16.70 on the NYSE.
