There appears to be more life in Orezone Gold’s (TSX: ORE) flagship Bombore Gold Mine than previously believed, based on recent assay results published by the company.
An ongoing exploration campaign has seen the company extend the North Zone footwall mineralization by up to 200 metres below the current reserve pits along a strike length of 800 metres, while also extending the known mineralization of the P17S high grade sub zone by 300 metres down plunge. Orezone has also indicated that multiple broad near surface strike extensions have been identified on site.
Highlights from the results include:
- BBD1358: 1.59 g/t gold over 48.00 metres from a depth of 137.00 metres
- Including 4.86 g/t gold over 9.00 metres
- BBD1367: 2.67 g/t gold over 7.40 metres from a depth of 313.00 metres
- BBD1370: 1.09 g/t gold over 45.00 metres from a depth of 238.00 metres
- Including 2.56 g/t gold over 8.00 metres
- BPC7216: 2.01 g/t gold over 14.00 metres from a depth of 189.00 metres
- BPC7217: 1.97 g/t gold over 16.10 metres from a depth of 186.90 metres
- Including 2.74 g/t gold over 10.10 metres
“These latest drill results confirm the down plunge continuity of multiple higher-grade sub-zones, with mineralized traces extending beneath the current resource pits, and remaining open at depth. The targeted drilling at the North and P8P9 zones further underscores the near-term potential at Bomboré to selectively pull higher-grade reserve pits to depth across the greater 14km long reserve defined trend,” commented Patrick Downey, CEO of Orezone Gold.

Approximately 30,000 metres of drilling was completed in the first half of 2025. Drilling over the second half is expected to continue on multiple fronts, with the goal of increasing Bombore’s global resource from 5 million ounces to a targeted 7 to 10 million ounces.
Orezone Gold last traded at $1.15 on the TSX.
