Patriot Battery Metals Appoints Ken Brinsden, Ex-Pilbara CEO, As Chief Executive Officer

Patriot Battery Metals (TSXV: PMET) is implementing changes to its management team to enable what it calls “rapid progress” at its flagship Corvette Lithium Project.

The key changes to be made include the appointment of Ken Brinsden to the role of CEO, President, and Managing Director of the company, which will see him transition from the current role of Non-Executive Chair. Brinsden is a mining engineer by trade with three decades of experience in mining operations. Most recently, he served as CEO of Pilbara Minerals as CEO, building it into a 600,000 tonne per year producer of spodumene concentrate.

Key to Brinsden’s appointment is that he will reside in Montreal, Quebec, in an effort to boost the firms presence in Quebec. The company believes that its key members should be based in Quebec going forward in an effort to advance engagement with local stakeholders to enable the timely development of Corvette.

Pierre Boivin, a resident of Quebec and a lawyer of four decades in the resource sector, will be filling the role of Non-Executive Chair.

Current CEO and President Blair Way meanwhile is to move into the role of Chief Operating Officer while retaining his executive board position.

“The time is right to build-out capacity in Quebec in support of the Project’s development. We are lucky to have someone of Ken’s calibre and experience in the lithium industry leading the charge, given that he has done the job before at Pilbara Minerals, taking the company from the development phase to one of the world’s biggest lithium producers,” commented Way on the changes.

Shareholders meanwhile appear to be immensely supportive of the changes, given Brinsden’s track record at Pilbara.
