Miami-based The Real Brokerage (NASDAQ: REAX) has struck a deal to acquire Remax Holdings (NYSE: RMAX) for approximately $880 million, creating a global real estate platform that merges AI tech with an expansive franchise network.
The combined entity, to be named Real Remax Group, will unite Real’s AI-driven brokerage tools with Remax’s network of over 145,000 agents across more than 120 countries. Together, they will support over 180,000 real estate professionals and 8,500 franchisees, with a significant presence of 100,000 agents in the United States and Canada alone.
Financially, the merger positions the new company as a heavyweight, with pro forma annual revenue of about $2.3 billion for 2025. The transaction is slated to close in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals and customary conditions.
“Real brings differentiated, best-in-class technology that we believe will drive greater choice, higher productivity, and expanded support to our network,” said Erik Carlson, CEO of Remax Holdings. “By joining forces, we will be positioned to deliver a more enhanced experience for all stakeholders.”
Leadership of the combined firm will see Real’s CEO Tamir Poleg take on the roles of chairman and CEO, while Chief Operating Officer Jenna Rozenblat steps into the position of chief integration officer. The company will maintain its headquarters in Miami, with key operations continuing in the Denver area.
Post-merger, Real Remax Group’s shares are expected to trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker REAX, signaling a unified market presence. The deal reflects a broader trend of consolidation in the real estate sector as firms seek scale and technological edge to navigate competitive pressures.
The combined entity’s footprint, spanning over 120 countries, sets a new benchmark for global reach in the industry as it aims to leverage technology to redefine agent and consumer experiences by late 2026.
