Skeena Discovers Gold-Copper Porphyry System At KSP, Hits 0.71 g/t Gold Over 381.47 Metres

Skeena Resources (TSX: SKE) is reporting this morning that it has discovered a gold-copper porphyry system at its KSP property, found 24 kilometres to the southwest of its flagship Eskay Creek project.

The discovery follows a 9,182 metre drill program, which consisted of a total of 22 drill holes. The program intersected broad intervals of gold-copper porphyry mineralization. Highlights from the results include:

  • CP-24-001: 121.50 metres of 0.62 g/t gold, 2.84 g/t silver, 0.14% copperfrom a depth of 22.50 metres
  • CP-24-004: 381.47 metres of 0.71 g/t gold, 0.69 g/t silver, 0.03% copper from a depth of 116.53 metres
    • Including 117.47 metres of 0.50 g/t gold, 0.78 g/t silver, and 0.03% copper
    • And including 139.00 metres of 1.07 g/t gold, 0.68 g/t silver, and 0.03 copper
  • CP-24-008: 7.61 metres of 6.44 g/t gold, 3.40 g/t silver, 0.23% copper from a depth of 79.40 metres
  • CP-24-011: 75.15 metres of 0.49 g/t gold, 2.15 g/t silver, and 0.02% copper from a depth of 273.35 metres

The intersections were made at the Camp Porphyry area of the property, with mineralization traced along 1,000 metres currently. The area is said to have the potential for further expansion through additional drilling.

“We are very encouraged that our first drill program at KSP has yielded the discovery of a new Gold-Copper Porphyry system on the property. The headline intercept of 0.71 grams per tonne gold over 380 metres, is among many strong results and demonstrates a substantial volume of mineralized material in a potentially very large, essentially unexplored mineralized system,” commented Paul Geddes, VP of Exploration and Resource Development for Skeena Resources.

Skeena Resources last traded at $13.48 on the TSX.
